FIghting 15s: Temporary halt on shipping to EU except France

From 1 July 2026, small packet duty is due on shipments from outside the EU to its member countries. Royal Mail already has a system in place to collect the duty and VAT for France, so Fighting 15s is putting a temporary hold on all EU orders except for France.

On 1 July we should be able to test the system for other countries in Royal Mail’s Click and Drop service. We will then be able to start charging small packet duty as well as VAT, allowing shipments to the EU to go out with duty and VAT already paid. We have to adjust the shop for different EU VAT rates and check the charges are correctly applied in Royal Mail’s online system. That may take a few days. We’re closing the shop to EU orders now because the new system should be in place before any shipments sent now will arrive.

The charges for France aren’t cheap, and delivery costs may look high as a result. But EU customers will not have to pay VAT and a collection fee when an order arrives in their country.

One actually wonders if this system is going to be widely available, why IOSS was even created.
