Fighting 15s suspends EU orders until 1 January 2021

Customers in the 27 member states of the EU will not be able to place an order in the Fighting 15s shop from 14 December 2020 until 1 January 2021. Shipping options for EU countries are temporarily disabled.

This temporary suspension of service avoids a potential double-charging of VAT as the Brexit transition period comes to an end. At this time of year, we cannot now guarantee to cast, pack and dispatch orders to arrive on or before 31 December 2020. Any order placed now will have VAT charged on it by the shop, but may not arrive at its destination until 2021, at which point cross-border VAT might be charged again. Fighting 15s does not want any of its EU customers to suffer a double tax whammy, and with regret has decided that this course of action is the only safe solution.

Orders within the UK, to non-EU destinations, and to Norway and Switzerland are unaffected. This is because VAT continues to work the same way regardless, that is, it is still charged in the UK and still removed for non-EU orders. Fighting 15s remains open to customers in unaffected countries.

EU destinations will be restored on 1 January 2021, at which point Fighting 15s will no longer charge VAT to EU customers. VAT will instead be due on import and be collected by respective countries’ mail services. Looking to the future, EU customer should note that on 1 July 2021 the 22-euro low-value VAT exemption for import packages ends.
