Fighting 15s Flags: The Prussian Army of the Lower Rhine 1815

If there’s anything Fighting 15s likes, then it’s plunging a stick into a hornet’s nest and giving it a good waggle. Our latest release in the orders of battle range of 15mm flags is the Prussian Army of the Lower Rhine 1815. The 12 sheets of flags join the Anglo-Allied Army and the French Army of the North, completing our lineup of flags for the Waterloo campaign.

The simple fact is that many of the regiments and battalions in the Prussian army for this campaign didn’t have official flags. Reserve regiments were supposed to receive flags by an order of 3 June 1814. But none of them were ready for the 1815 campaign; most regiments received them from September 1815. Fusilier battalions did not receive flags until after Waterloo. And Landwehr regiments didn’t have official flags.

None the less, many wargamers want flags to identify their regiments and battalions regardless of historical accuracy. And it’s for them rather than the historical purists for whom this range is designed. It’s a reasonable liberty to take: it’s not as if Fighting 15s is releasing an authentic British trenches set for Waterloo, Mr Ridley Scott. Just stick with us until 1 April for that one.

Sheets have from nine to 15 flags each, typically 12, and cost £4.50 each including VAT. They are designed in Fighting 15s enhanced style with improved shading. Fighting 15s Flags were formerly marketed as Flags for AB because they’re designed to fit AB Figures.
